Title : Animal Care Supervisor

Reports to : Shelter Manager - Main
Job Summary
To advance the mission and programs of the Animal Rescue League of Iowa (ARL) by managing all facets of Animal Care and leading the Animal Care team.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Oversee all aspects of Animal Care at the ARL’s Main location.
- Ensure all animals are properly taken care of including nutrition, hydration, exercising, and socialization.
- Assist Animal Care Technicians with morning and closing cleaning and feeding, as needed.
- Be an advocate for the Animal Rescue League of Iowa; be familiar with policies and procedures to facilitate communication of correct information to the public and staff.
- Counsel and coach Animal Care staff.
- Provide training in collaboration with Animal Care Team Lead.
- Operate and maintain equipment in good working condition and report repair or replacement needs.
- Develop tools to measure success and compliance for the Animal Care team.
- Responsible for accuracy of information entered in the animal sheltering database and maintain applicable person and animal records.
- Create Animal Care team schedules.
- Actively participate in the hiring and termination process for Animal Care.
- Monitor supply inventory and promptly communicate replenishment needs.
- Ensure OSHA requirements are followed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
