Registered Veterinary Technician / Licensed RVT

Vision Care & Surgical Center is a well-established, privately owned specialty clinic. Our team is led by Dr. Noelle McNabb, the only board-certified veterinary ophthalmologist in the San Fernando Valley, with over 25 years of experience.
We are a team-focused, and lifestyle prioritizing veterinary practice.
The position is full-time and will not include night or weekend hours.
Our clinic utilizes state-of-the-art diagnostic and surgical ophthalmic equipment. We offer medical and surgical services, including phacoemulsification for cataract removal, repair and grafting of corneal defects and ulcerations, cryotherapy and laser treatment for glaucoma, retinal detachment and ocular tumors.
Advanced training in veterinary ophthalmology is provided, therefore prior experience in this field is not necessary.

We practice in a modern veterinary facility located in the heart of Studio City. Ample free parking is available for all staff members and clients.
Requirements:
- Experience in veterinary patient sedation and anesthesia
- Communicates compassionately and empathetically with clients.
- Strong written and verbal skills in English.
- High level attention to detail and follow through.
- Ability to handle stressful situations, is adaptable, and an innate problem solver.
Essential Job Duties:
- Ability to perform routine veterinary technician duties. These include but are not limited to: venipuncture, IV catheter placement, drug calculations and IV fluid rates.
- Urine collection via cystocentesis and urinary catheterization (canine and feline).
- Low stress patient handling and restraint for examinations and procedures.
- Proficiency in operating fluid pumps, obtaining patient blood pressure, set up and use of anesthetic machines and monitoring devices.
- Preparation of patients for surgery, administration of sedatives, monitoring of patients under sedation and general (inhalant) anesthesia.
- Assist in the maintenance of ophthalmic instruments and equipment.
- Must be able to lift 45 pounds, stand or walk for 8-10 hours per day.
- Lead veterinary technicians, assistants, and client service representatives to drive operational excellence, efficiency, and high-level patient care and client experience.
- Create productive, collaborative and seamless relationships with all team members in the practice to drive a positive culture and cohesive team environment.
- Assist with inventory management to maintain required clinic supplies and medications (including the Controlled Substances program).
- Schedule medical and surgical appointments, communicate with and educate clients, relay test results to doctor and clients.
- Participate in or have an integral role in team member training.
- Organize and /or participate in team meetings focused on new medical and surgical developments and patient care.
- Keep the clinic environment organized and sanitary.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $26.00 - $33.00 per hour
Expected hours: 37 – 40 per week
