Position Overview: We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Veterinary Technician with a strong surgical background to join our team. As part of our small practice, the ideal candidate will thrive in a collaborative environment, be versatile in performing a variety of duties, and share our mission of providing affordable, high-quality veterinary care to our community.
Key Responsibilities:
Dental Care:
- Obtain full-mouth dental radiographs
- Scale, polish, and administer local anesthetics
- Maintain patient comfort and safety during dental procedures
Surgical Care:
- Administer and monitor anesthesia during surgeries
- Ensure competency with sterile procedures
- Safely place and secure bandages and splints
Patient Care:
- Place and secure IV lines
- Record vital signs and observations in electronic medical records
- Employ low-stress handling techniques to ensure patient comfort
Client Communication:
- Communicate clearly and professionally with clients about post-op follow-ups, hospitalized pet updates, and appointment scheduling needs
General Responsibilities:
- Assist with checking in and out clients
- Maintain a clean, organized, and cohesive work environment
- Use Zoetis machines for blood work and other diagnostic tests
- Familiarity with dental and full-body digital radiography
Qualifications:
- 5 years of experience as a Veterinary Technician (preferred)
- Strong background in anesthesia administration and monitoring
- Proficiency in dental procedures and radiography
- Familiarity with Zoetis diagnostic machines and electronic medical records
- Ability to work in a small team and assist in a variety of tasks
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Good attendance record and reliability
