Job Summary

AnimalBiome is seeking a highly skilled Sr. Manager of Production to lead and enhance operations across three critical areas: our FMT (Fecal Microbiota Transplantation) stool bank, quality control of incoming products and materials, and clean production of in-house products. This leadership role is ideal for a seasoned professional with extensive experience in quality assurance, production operations, and laboratory management, paired with a strategic vision for process optimization and an unwavering commitment to regulatory and safety standards.


Key Responsibilities

1. FMT Stool Bank Oversight

  • Donor Testing and Selection: Streamline donor testing processes to meet stringent quality standards.
  • Compliance and Documentation: Maintain accurate records and ensure adherence to regulatory and internal quality standards.
  • Inventory Management: Ensure a consistent supply of qualified donor material.
  • Process Improvement: Partner with research teams to refine protocols and integrate scientific advancements.
  • Safety and Contamination Prevention: Enforce stringent cleanliness protocols.
  • Quality Assurance: Apply QA/QC principles to all stool bank operations.


2. Quality Control for Incoming Products and Materials

  • Inspection and Testing: Oversee the quality inspection of incoming materials to meet organizational standards.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with industry and regulatory requirements.
  • Testing and Verification: Conduct viability and contamination testing, including powdered products.
  • Documentation and Traceability: Maintain comprehensive records for quality control processes.
  • Supplier Collaboration: Address quality concerns and ensure vendor alignment with standards.


3. Clean Production of In-House Products

  • Production Protocols: Develop and enforce sterile production protocols.
  • Product Quality: Ensure consistency and adherence to product specifications.
  • Equipment Oversight: Manage equipment maintenance for operational efficiency.
  • Innovation: Integrate new technologies and refine processes for efficiency and quality.
  • Safety and Compliance: Uphold health, safety, and regulatory standards.


Cross-Functional Responsibilities

  • Strategic Resource Management: Oversee budgeting, resource allocation, and financial planning to support operational growth.
  • Innovation: Drive the adoption of advanced technologies to enhance laboratory capabilities.
  • Risk Management: Implement contingency plans to ensure operational continuity.
  • Diversity and Sustainability: Foster an inclusive workplace and champion sustainable practices.
  • Performance Metrics: Establish and monitor KPIs for continuous improvement.
  • Team Culture: Cultivate a positive team environment and build strong relationships with stakeholders and contract manufacturers.


Qualifications


Education

  • M.S. or Ph.D. in a relevant scientific or technical field.
  • Advanced certifications in laboratory management, quality assurance, or regulatory compliance preferred.

Experience

  • Minimum 5 years in quality assurance, laboratory management, or production operations.
  • Proven experience leading cross-functional teams in complex production environments.

Technical Expertise

  • Strong knowledge of regulatory standards for clean manufacturing processes.
  • Expertise in QA/QC processes, including audits and compliance.
  • Hands-on experience with PCR diagnostics, microbiology, and related laboratory techniques.

Compensation

  • Annual Salary Range: $85,000 - $110,000
  • AnimalBiome’s salary structure is based on comprehensive market data. Offers will be determined by education, experience, skills, and internal equity. New hires can expect compensation between the minimum and midpoint of the salary range, depending on qualifications and experience
