What are the responsibilities and job description for the Aerospace Engineer position at Anka Space?
We are seeking Aerospace Engineers with a focus on propulsion systems, specifically experienced in LOX/Kerosene engines, to lead engine integration, optimization, and performance validation for our first reusable rocket prototype. You will play a critical role in designing, testing, and refining the propulsion system to achieve safe and efficient operations.
Responsibilities
- Engine Integration: Work closely with suppliers to integrate a LOX/Kerosene engine into our VTVL rocket.
- Performance Optimization: Conduct modeling, analysis, and simulation to improve thrust efficiency, burn stability, and cooling.
- Fuel System Design: Develop and refine the propellant delivery system, including pressure-fed configurations, tanks, valves, and injectors.
- Static Fire Testing: Design, implement, and oversee engine testing protocols to validate performance.
- Failure Analysis & Improvements: Identify and troubleshoot potential combustion instability, injector issues, and material stress failures.
- Collaboration with Avionics & Guidance Team: Work on thrust vectoring control (TVC) and stabilization methods.
Qualifications
- Degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- Hands-on experience with liquid rocket engines, preferably LOX/Kerosene.
- Deep understanding of rocket combustion dynamics, injector design, and cooling techniques.
- Experience with propulsion system modeling & simulations (Ansys, MATLAB, or equivalent).
- Experience with static fire testing & high-pressure propellant systems.
Preferred
- Experience working with reusable rocket systems.
- Knowledge of thrust vector control (TVC) and gimbal designs.
- Previous work on startup rocket projects or university rocketry teams
