Before & After School Program - Program Assistant
Purpose Statement
The role of Before & After School Program - Program Assistant is to engage with students and assist the teacher in providing fun, hands-on activities to ensure a quality, safe experience.
Job Title : Before & After School Program - Program Assistant
Hurly Rate : $14.00 / hour minimum, based on qualifications and experience
- Employees are provided with paid sick leave per the District policy. No other paid leave is available.
Reports To : Manager of Before & After School Programs and / or Before & After School Program Site Leader / Assistant Site Leader(s)
Wage / Hour Status : Non-Exempt
B / ASP Tuition : may have opportunity to receive reduced and / or free B / ASP tuition for child(ren), per guidelines - minimum work hours apply
Job Details
Employment dates : August - June
Position hours vary and are part-time. Total weekly hours will not exceed 29.75; exact hours are per individual employment agreement. Positions are scheduled in sessions (approximate 9-week increments). Length of contract : one session with the opportunity to extend the position for additional sessions throughout the program year, pending satisfactory performance evaluation.

The usual and customary methods of performing the position functions require the following physical demands : significant lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, climbing, reaching, driving, standing and walking. Working conditions may include extreme temperatures and humidity. Hazards may include exposure to communicable diseases. This position requires one to maintain emotional control under stress.
Responsibility
Responsibilities include : working independently under broad organizational guidelines to achieve unit objectives; directing other persons within a department, large work unit, and / or across several small work units; directing the use of budgeted funds within a work unit; utilization of some resources from other work units is often required to perform the job's functions. There is a continual opportunity to significantly impact the organization's services.
Supervision
Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
May be assigned the management, coordination, and evaluation of classified employees assigned to the school.

Evaluation
Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board Policy. These employees are not covered by a collective bargaining agreement.
