Camp/Clinic Lead Organizer
Purpose Statement
The Camp/Clinic Lead Organizer is responsible for the organization, development, and leadership of a designated camp and/or clinic with the Ankeny Community School District. Duties may include coordinating practice planning, skill development, and designing strategies; mentoring student-athletes; organizing camps; budget management; collaborates with camps and clinics coordinator; and demonstrates adherence to district rules and regulations.

Wage: Wages for Camps/Clinics are subject to negotiation.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Valid coaching license through the Iowa Board of Educational Examiners or the ability to obtain it prior to the start of the season.
- Previous experience leading a camp/clinic, preferred.
- Previous experience as a head coach, preferred.
- Previous experience coaching within the specified sport/activity.
- Strong knowledge of coaching techniques and procedures.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively lead, instruct, and supervise students athletes and a coaching staff.
- Ability to work under pressure and remain calm.
- Proficient in organization, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Essential Functions
- Designing, organizing, and carrying out of specified camp or clinic.
- Establish the fundamental philosophy, skills, and techniques to be taught to the student athlete, promoting individual and team growth in athletic skills, teamwork, discipline, respect and good sportsmanship.
- Train and inform camp staff on the fundamental philosophy, skills and techniques.
- Delegate and assign specific duties, supervise implementation and analyze staff effectiveness.
- Ensure all coaches work together toward a common goal within their respected camps/clinics and provide unity within the Ankeny CSD.
- Accompany and supervise students throughout the entirety of the camp/clinic.
- Adhere to injury prevention procedures established by Ankeny CSD.
- Collaboratively work to enhance sportsmanship by spectators, both directly and indirectly by working closely with administration, cheerleaders, pep clubs, boosters, etc.
- Take precautions to protect student athletes, equipment, materials, and facilities.
- Be familiar with and adhere to the coaches handbook, employee handbook, Board of Educational Examiners Professional Code of Ethics and Conduct, and board policies, especially those governing student non-discrimination, anti-harassment, bullying, mandatory reporting, student record confidentiality, and other pertinent policies.

- Is respectful and appropriately interacts with staff, students, and visitors.
- Uphold and adhere to safety rules and policies of the Ankeny Community School District safety program.
- Support the goals and objectives of the school district and follow all district policies.
- Perform all duties in a safe manner to avoid injury to oneself and/or others.
- Respond to emergency situations for the purpose of resolving immediate safety concerns and/or directing appropriate personnel for resolution.
- Perform other related duties, as assigned, for the purpose of ensuring the efficient and effective functioning of the work unit.
Working Environment

The usual and customary methods of performing the position functions require the following physical demands: lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, climbing, reaching, driving, standing and walking. Working conditions may include extreme temperatures and humidity. Hazards may include exposure to communicable diseases. This position requires one to maintain emotional control under stress.
