Student Leadership Council - High School
Purpose Statement
Student Leadership Council is responsible for advising and overseeing the activities of the Student Council. Throughout the school year the Student Council contributes to school-wide activities promoting spirit and pride in the school and community. The Student Council also raises funds for these activities. All activities are paid for through fundraising and by students.
Job Title: Student Leadership Council
Stipend: $2,400
Employment Term: July 1st - June 30th
Reports To: Building Principal and Athletic Director
Essential Functions
- Supervise all assigned Student Council activities (duties to include work outside of contract hours which may include a dance). \
- Meet weekly with co-council to discuss/plan for upcoming events.
- Determine role of council officers and conduct election of council officers.
- Establish council goals on school pride, spirit, funds, and events.
- Encourage students to appreciate and value their classmates, school, and community.
- Encourage activities in support of school and community.
- Promote and monitor these goals to keep the class on task.
- Hold council meetings to discuss ideas for the good of the school and to plan future meetings and events.
- Encourage council to present the students’ wishes and needs to the faculty and administration, and to increase students’ spirit and participation in their school.
- Work with council to develop budget for all activities and events.
- Help council plan school events, and any other activities.

Working Environment
Mental Demands/Physical Demands/Environmental Factors:
The usual and customary methods of performing the position functions require the following physical demands: lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, climbing, reaching, driving, standing and walking. Working conditions may include extreme temperatures and humidity. Hazards may include exposure to communicable diseases. This position requires one to maintain emotional control under stress.
