What are the responsibilities and job description for the Counselor II position at AnMed?
Seeking an Adolescent Behavioral Health counselor who will integrate into the pediatric practice and provide continuity of care services for patients of the practice ages 11-17 with depression, anxiety, and ADHD. Responsibilities include assessment of living situations, family stressors, etc., development of care plans with the patient and family, delivery of ongoing education about communication, organization, and coping skills, assist/lead classes & workshops for patients and/or families, and coordination with pediatricians on effectiveness of treatment options. The Counselor II position performs initial clinical assessment, determines appropriate level of service for patients or referral to other providers/agencies as needed and ensures patients receive appropriate level of care.
Qualifications: Requires a Master's degree or higher in a mental health related field; state licensure to include Licensed Independent Social Worker - Clinical Practice, Licensed Professional Counselor, Licensed Psychologist, or licensed RN with psychiatric experience. A minimum of two (2) years experience in a mental health setting with strong mental health assessment skills and crisis management skills.
