What are the responsibilities and job description for the Epic Ancillary Applications Manager position at AnMed?
SUMMARY
This position is responsible for designing, building, and implementing ancillary information solutions for clinical, ancillary, and physician applications to deliver safe, effective, and high-quality patient care. This position develops, publishes, and executes project plans, and schedules for their responsible applications. Individual coordinates, facilitates, and monitors project milestones and budgets for assigned applications. Coordinates and leads cross-functional teams to build and implement applications through planning, scheduling, assigning, coordinating, and reviewing tasks performed by staff.
SPECIFIC DUTIES
1. Responsible for managing and leading the staff and ensuring successful build, implementation, and updates of the assigned Epic applications.
2. Works closely with the project director as the central point of communication. Works closely and collaboratively with other project managers and clinical leaders.
3. Thoroughly review current clinician and physician workflow processes and lead the effort to make changes/improvements to existing workflow processes.
4. Possesses comprehensive knowledge of hospital/clinical operations, interdepartmental procedures/functions, clinical workflow and documentation.
5. Identifies risks and collaborates with the project team on key decisions.
6. Possess strong interpersonal skills and effective communication skills.
7. Identifies current challenges and opportunities related to ancillary/inpatient care areas and leads changes for optimizing the use of Epic’s solutions.
8. Ability to be self-directed while prioritizing and simultaneously working on multiple projects.
QUALIFICATIONS
· Bachelor’s degree in information services, health administration, business administration, health sciences, or a related field or equivalent knowledge and skills obtained through a combination of education, training, and work experience.
· The applicant should have 5 years experience in implementing and supporting information systems as well as hospital operational experience in a clinical or healthcare business field
