What are the responsibilities and job description for the Lab Assistant - Histology position at AnMed?
Performs various routine functions precisely and accurately to assist the laboratory professional staff and to facilitate testing by building cases in EPIC, assist with clerical tasks, receive and process specimens and perform transcription as needed. Upon completion of training, assist with staining of slides, filing slides, sending out slides for consultation and referred testing studies; answer department phones, assist pathologists with clerical duties as needed and perform other non-complex department functions as assigned.
Qualifications:
Lab Assistant I – HS or GED required, phlebotomy or transcription experience preferred.
Lab Assistant II – HS or GED required and a certified phlebotomist, or AS in health related sciences or Chemistry, Microbiology, Biology or Medical Technology.
Lab Assistant III – BS required in health related sciences or Chemistry, Microbiology, Biology or Medical Technology.
