Position Summary
Under the direction of the Communications & Marketing Manager, the Promotions Supervisor works as part of a team to inform Ann Arbor District Library patrons of the events, exhibits, and major expos and festivals offered by AADL.
This position includes working evening and / or weekend hours as needed.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following; other duties may be assigned :
- Execute AADL's promotions strategy for events and exhibits through Library channels, including but not limited to : social media, newsletters, brochures, print materials, and print, radio, and digital advertising.
- Supervise members of the Communications & Marketing team and support their efforts in organizing and promoting AADL events.
- Plan and execute the marketing, advertising, and publicity of AADL's major expos and festivals.
- Work with Library events, production, and festival team members to help manage the logistics involved in putting on AADL's expos and festivals.
- Draft press releases, manage media contacts, and seek earned media for AADL events and exhibits.
- Work with freelance artists and partners to create artwork, video, or promotional collateral to promote AADL events and exhibits.
- Assist in managing promotional content in AADL's monthly event brochures.
- Assist in managing the production of physical materials to promote AADL events and exhibits, including but not limited to : posters, bookmarks, postcards, and stickers.
- Manage and create written, visual, and video content to promote AADL events and exhibits.
- Track and analyze metrics and create reporting systems to measure the impact of promotional activities.
- Occasionally cover live events, taking photos and video and posting to social media channels.
- Communicate with staff in other departments and attend meetings when applicable.
- Maintain a prompt and reliable attendance record.
