As a key member of the client success team, the Account Manager will build and maintain meaningful relationships with healthcare clients, identify their pain points, and serve as a trusted advisor by delivering customized infection prevention insights based on environmental data. The successful candidate will be self-motivated, resourceful, and capable of conducting independent research to enhance client value.
Position Profile
- Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned healthcare facility clients.
- Interpret laboratory reports and environmental microbiology data to develop customized, actionable recommendations.
- Develop long-term, trusted relationships with healthcare clients to support renewal, retention, and account expansion.
- Identify opportunities to upsell additional services, including increased sampling frequency, expansion to new departments, or onboarding of additional facilities within health systems.
- Act as a strategic partner to client stakeholders, guiding adoption of new Culturewell products or services based on evidence-based needs.
- Proactively assess client usage and outcomes to recommend enhanced service packages or custom sampling plans.
- Collaborate with internal teams to align service delivery with client goals, identify emerging needs, and support Culturewell’s growth strategy.
- Support sales and business development efforts by participating in product demos, client education sessions, and value-proposition discussions.
- Lead client onboarding, training, and ongoing support in infection prevention strategies and data interpretation.
- Collaborate with Culturewell’s internal science, operations, and technology teams to drive continuous improvement of client deliverables.
- Support and influence clients’ infection prevention programs through education, thought leadership, and advocacy.
- Conduct independent research on microbial threats, environmental cleaning practices, and regulatory guidelines to tailor client guidance.
- Track and report client feedback to enhance services and support client renewals.
- Prepare and deliver presentations to client stakeholders, including infection prevention, environmental services, and quality improvement teams.
- On occasion, perform sample collection at client sites as needed to support onboarding, expansion, or business development efforts. Sampling may include environmental surface, water, or air testing in alignment with Culturewell’s protocols.
- Contribute to internal knowledge sharing and strategy development.
- Maintain strict confidentiality of all client names, test results, and other associated client information, including patient data, in full compliance with HIPAA, where applicable.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Active CIC (Certification in Infection Control) credential.
- 10 years of professional experience, including at least 5 years in infection prevention and 3 years in healthcare consulting or equivalent client-facing roles.
- Deep understanding of healthcare-associated infection risks, infection control standards, and evidence-based prevention strategies.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate scientific information to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Strong organizational and project management skills.
- Proven ability to work independently and synthesize large volumes of data into clear, actionable recommendations.
- Passion for public health and improving patient safety.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work in a startup organization, where workflows and priorities are often changing, sometimes unexpectedly.
- Preferred: Experience in microbiology or environmental infection prevention programs.
- Preferred: Experience with sales, client growth, or healthcare SaaS platforms.
- Preferred: Familiarity with environmental monitoring programs and surface testing protocols.

- Must be able to stoop, bend at the knee, use stairs, and be able to lift up to 25 lbs.
- Must be able to walk and stand for an entire sampling event, if necessary, up to four hours or more continuously.
- Restrooms may not be available for long periods of time.
- Must have enough hand dexterity to be able to pinch, grasp, pull apart, touch, and rotate small objects in a repetitive manner with a high degree of accuracy.
- Must have sufficient visual acuity to discern nearly imperceptible differences in surfaces without the aid of additional magnification other than corrective lenses.
- Must be able to operate computers, cell phones, and other devices for the purposes of communication, documentation, and collection of sampling data.
- Must be able to wear all required personal protective equipment for up to 10 hours.
- Must be able to pass and maintain qualification to wear an N-95 respirator or equivalent protective device.
- Must be able to tie back hair to prevent contamination of sample locations.
- Artificial nails are not allowed for hygiene and hospital compliance reasons. Nails must be no longer than ¼” beyond the nailbed. Nail polish or other decorations are not permitted.
- Must be able to meet or exceed client site-specific PPE donning and doffing requirements.
- Travel to client locations for sampling events and occasional conferences, meetings, or workgroups, as needed. (Estimated 30%).
- Visits to client locations may require any number of compliance requirements such as PPE use, vaccinations, or titers to prove immunity.
- The candidate must be willing and able to meet these requirements as needed.
