Summary: Marquee Arts is seeking a highly motivated and entrepreneurial summer intern to join our Marketing and Sales Division. This internship will focus on the development, execution, and optimization of a comprehensive sales and marketing structure for on-screen advertisements across our six film screens. Working directly with the Director of Marketing and cross-departmentally with Programming and Development, the intern will have the opportunity to make a lasting impact on the organization’s earned revenue strategy.

This role requires walking and standing for extended periods of time. This role requires working at a desk for extended periods of time. Extended computer use is required. This role also regularly requires reaching, standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing stairs. Lifting and/or moving items that weigh up to 50 pounds may be required.
Travel: Limited local travel may be required.
Required Education and Experience Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, Arts Management, or a related field. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills. Strong organizational abilities and attention to detail. Confidence in outreach, pitching, and client communication. Comfortable using tools like Canva, Google Workspace, and/or Adobe Creative Suite.

Research & Strategy Development
- Conduct market research and competitive analysis on cinema advertising models used by other nonprofit and for-profit theaters.
- Identify potential advertisers and community partners that align with the mission and values of Marquee Arts.
- Develop a compelling advertising pitch deck and rate card for use in sales outreach.
- Create a targeted outreach plan and initiate contact with potential advertisers (local businesses, event promoters, arts organizations, etc.).
- Build and maintain a CRM or database of leads, contacts, contracts, and campaign status.
- Serve as a liaison between Marquee Arts and advertisers to ensure timely delivery of assets and fulfillment of contracts.
- Coordinate the scheduling and delivery of approved advertisements across six screens at the Michigan and State Theaters.
- Monitor and evaluate campaign performance, and recommend improvements as needed.
- Ensure that all advertisements meet brand guidelines and technical specifications.
- Work closely with the Programming, Marketing, and Front of House teams to ensure seamless integration of ad content into film presentations.
- Provide regular progress updates to the Director of Marketing and contribute to end-of-summer reporting.
