POSITION SUMMARY:
In collaboration with the Camp AGQ Director and Executive Director, the Facilities Director is responsible for the management and operations of the camp property, equipment, and vehicles. The primary focus of this role is facility upkeep and oversight. The Facilities Director strives to continuously improve the impact of Camp AGQ programs through collaboration with the rest of the AGQ Team.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Support the mission, vision and goals of the Ann Arbor YMCA; promote character development and the values of caring, honesty, respect and responsibility by modeling appropriate behavior.?
- Has shared budgeting responsibilities with the Camp AGQ Executive in the development and management of the Camp AGQ facilities budget and capital repairs. Monitor expenditures to ensure compliance with the budget.?
- Responsible for the development and implementation of a maintenance management system, including prevention and correction.
- Supervise and assign projects and make appropriate decisions based on work experience and individual skills.??
- Schedules routine maintenance and vendor contracts on equipment and service.
- Act as onsite point person for contractors, vendors, architects and builders.??
- Supervise and train maintenance staff, ensuring they’re trained appropriately in maintenance responsibilities, including how to safely use and store equipment and hazardous materials. Supervise work, review assignments and effectiveness of maintenance staff.??
- Supervise and maintain facilities in the off-season to ensure the camp grounds, buildings and equipment are safe and secure.
- Operate vehicles and maintenance equipment in accordance with all safety regulations and procedures. Keep and maintain fleet of vehicles and maintenance equipment in good operating conditions. Conduct initial and end-of-season inventory of maintenance equipment. Store equipment for safety.
- Participate as a member of the camp management team as needed to ensure the integration of program and property in order to deliver a program that meets the needs of campers and the camp mission.

Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or equivalent is required. Five years experience in facility and site management, construction or land management.?
- Bachelor’s degree, Builder’s License or equivalent preferred.?
- Working knowledge in areas of engineering, painting, carpentry, electrical wiring and controls, plumbing, water and sewage treatment, fire safety, vehicle and machinery operation.
- Must hold a current driver’s license. A chauffeur’s license or CDL is a plus.?
- Certification in CPR and First Aid are required within 60 days of employment.
- Understanding of the YMCA mission and cause is required. An ability to demonstrate YMCA cause is an advantage.
- Team Leader required or ability to attain within two years of hire.?
WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Ability to understand, communicate and implement safety regulations and procedures, including the ability to observe staff behavior, assess its appropriateness, enforce appropriate safety regulations and emergency procedures and apply appropriate management techniques.?
- Ability to walk and stand for long periods of time (60 minutes or more).
- Must have the endurance for prolonged standing, bending, stooping and stretching.?
- Ability to drive a car, boat and tractor required.?
- Ability to work more than a 40-hour week with irregular work hours, including occasional early morning, evening and weekend hours.
- Must have hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity to manipulate equipment.?
- Ability to safely and properly use power tools and equipment.?
- Ability to speak concisely and effectively communicate.
- Visual and auditory ability to identify and respond to safety and environmental hazards and physical ability to act swiftly in an emergency.?
