This position manages the work of instructors and is responsible for the overall plan to design, develop and deliver training to staff. This manager works with business and clinical leaders to define, plan, implement and evaluate the training curricula required.

General Summary:

Essential Job Functions:
- Leads the planning, design, implementation and evaluation of education for the Epic electronic medical record projects and establishes systems for ongoing training of health care professionals and students.
- Manages resources for the delivery of successful training. Includes management of training resources, personnel, consultants, related budgets, risk management, monitoring and reporting on training metrics.
- Selects, trains, directs, develops, evaluates and when necessary, disciplines team members.
- Develops a team of instructors from a variety of departments into effective adult educators, providing on going professional growth of team members.
- Actively manages the change process while modeling appropriate change management behavior. Coaches instructors on how to help employees adapt to the changes introduced by technology.
- Develops effective relationships with project teams, clinicians, and organizational leaders for successful application education. Promotes and facilitates dissemination of information and communication to support organizational team work.
- Evaluates the delivery and overall effectiveness of educational strategies.
- Participates in the development and attainment of personal and professional goals and objectives.
- Maintains documentation and record keeping systems in compliance with organizational and external agency requirements.
- Performs job functions adhering to service principles with customer service focus of innovation, service excellence and teamwork to provide the highest quality care and service to our patients, families, co-workers and others.
- The authority to hire, separate, promote, demote, write and administer performance evaluations.
- Other job functions as assigned.
- Master’s degree in adult education or instructional design or related health care field preferred.
- Previous experience in a health care setting required. Knowledge and experience in the delivery of large scale change personally or through project work, customer service, process improvement, and adult education. Experience with instructional design or educational program development. Experience with training implementation for large scale system implementations.
- Possesses excellent teaching skills that foster critical thinking and self-directed learning.
- Demonstrates project management and leadership skills with ability to effectively lead teams to deliver results in a matrixed organization.
- Demonstrates excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
