Live-In Opportunity – Overnight Support Staff (Women’s Shelter)

Location: Creswell, Oregon

Compensation: Base pay additional stipends (see below)

Housing Provided: Private bedroom, utilities, internet, laundry included

Schedule: On-call five nights per week 10:00pm – 7:00am

Guest engagement: One evening per week 6:00pm – 10:00pm ($20/hour)

About the Role

Ann’s Heart Women’s Shelter is seeking a compassionate, dependable woman to join our dedicated team as a Live-In Overnight Support Staff member. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking for a quiet, supportive living arrangement while making a meaningful impact.

In this role, you’ll provide peace of mind and overnight support to women in need. You will be on-site overnight to respond to occasional emergencies with care and compassion while also engaging with shelter guests one evening per week.

Additional pay available for optional responsibilities such as house management, garden maintenance, and assistance with supply tracking.

Primary Responsibilities (Included in Base Pay)

• Be present on-site overnight (five nights per week)
• Respond to occasional emergencies calmly and compassionately with trauma-informed care
• Conduct security checks (lock doors, monitor cameras, report concerns)
• Ensure shelter policies are followed and mediate minor conflicts
• Engage with guests one evening per week to foster a supportive environment (6 PM – 10 PM)

Optional Paid Responsibilities (Increase Your Pay

Choose one or more additional roles to increase your monthly income

#1: Resident Support/Housekeeping - $480/month

Create a welcoming, home-like atmosphere for guests by cleaning and maintaining the house interior

#2: Yard/Garden Maintenance - $480/month

Maintain and beautify our outdoor spaces, care for flower beds and vegetable gardens and encourage guest participation in gardening as a therapeutic activity

#3: House Task Management & Supply Tracking - $480/month

Supports staff to monitor, track and organize supplies, resources, and donations, ensuring proper storage

Salary Overview

Estimated Possible Monthly Salary (if including all roles):

Base Pay: On-call & 4 hrs x 1 day/week $320/month

Resident Support/Housekeeping           $480/month

Yard & Garden Maintenance                $480/month

House Task Management & Supply Tracking    $480/month

TOTAL       $1,760/month plus housing

Requirements

✅ Must be at least 21 years old

✅ Must pass a background check

✅ Ability to remain on-site overnight and respond calmly to emergency situations

✅ Strong communication and problem-solving skills

✅ Ability to maintain confidentiality and follow shelter policies

✅ Previous experience in social services, crisis response, or related fields is a plus but not required. Additional training provided in trauma informed care and other related services.

✅ Enjoys gardening or maintaining outdoor spaces (if selecting Yard/Garden Maintenance role)

❌ The shelter is not able to accommodate children on-site

❌ No drinking, drug use, or weapons allowed on site
