Position: Part Time Nurse
Accountability: Manager of Children/Youth & Health Services
Hours: Up to 16 hours per week; total for Nursing Program. Schedule is flexible
Responsibilities:
· Update policies/best practice related to health and wellness of shelter residents.
· Welcomes new residents and assists in health/physical assessment as needed.
· Establishment primary health care provider for residents and provide referrals as needed.
· Address health and safety issues relative to congregate living; coordinate interventions related to communicable disease control.
· Collaborate with advocates and residents regarding parenting, self-esteem, domestic violence, stress management.
· Serve as a resource and advocate for residents with mental health issues.
· Analyze trends relative to resident’s health needs and make recommendations accordingly.
· Mentor nursing interns.
· Keeps accurate records by entering stats in agency’s data base.
· Perform related duties as assigned.
· Trains staff on AED/First Aid/CPR.

· Team oriented, collaborative with and supportive of other staff in performing their duties and responsibilities, “pitches-in” to fill temporary operational gaps, when needed.
· Follows Anna Marie’s Alliance policies, and procedures.
· Utilizes critical thinking skills, exercises appropriate personal responsibility, and retains a positive outlook amidst challenging circumstance with self, residence, and staff.
· Provides trauma-informed direct services to victims of domestic abuse and their children including support, advocacy, crisis intervention, safety planning, parenting support, information, and referrals.
· Maintain client confidentiality and follow safety policies.
· Participate in regular check in meetings with manager.
Qualifications:
- Ability to work with people from diverse racial, cultural, social and economic backgrounds.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to do independent work with minimal supervision.
- Baccalaureate degree in nursing.
- Current license as a registered nurse in the state of Minnesota.
- Current certification as a Public Health Nurse in State of Minnesota.
- Two years’ experience in maternal/child health care and/or family health related nursing.
- Public Heath Experience Preferred.
- Knowledge and experience in mental health is desired.
- CRP/AED/First Aid Certified.
- Valid MN Driver’s License.
Physical Requirements
- Work requires walking, standing, sitting, lifting, reaching, bending, pushing and pulling.
- Intact sense of sight, hearing, smell, and touch. Finger dexterity.
- Critical thinking and ability to concentrate.
- Must be able to respond quickly to changes in conditions of client
