Position Overview
We have an immediate need for a Tech Lead, Media Data Engineering, and are currently seeking individuals who are interested in long-term independent contractor engagements (on 1099 status) who would potentially consider full-time, permanent roles with us in the future. Working remotely is an option for this role during the contractor period. You will need to be based in the United States and available during East Coast Time Zone working hours.
The Tech Lead will drive the architecture and strategy for unifying media buying data, creating accessible data products for stakeholders, and ensuring seamless integration for UI and AI applications. This role will spearhead the architecture and strategy for ingesting unified mar/ad-tech data (from ordering systems and ad servers to DSPs and social platforms) and ensuring its reliable delivery via client-specific storage and automated QA processes. You'll leverage this robust data foundation to create accessible data products that empower stakeholders and fuel UI and AI applications.
Key Responsibilities
This role is hybrid, requiring three (3) days per week in the office. The remaining two (2) days may be worked remotely. Specific in-office days will be discussed during the interview process, with flexibility to align with team needs. Please note that the number or required in-office days may be adjusted over time, potentially increasing the number of required in-office days based on business needs.

Key Responsibilities
- Drive the architecture and data strategy for storing and processing data from media buying platforms unified with planned and delivered data
- Create data products for baseline operational reporting. Work with various stakeholder to get the requirements for desired data products. Create supporting documentation to scale these processes across multiple clients.
- Ensure the data can be easily querable and usable across various UI capabilities and AI agents
- Scale the system to accommodate for internal data discrepancies and variations in internal media buying systems
- 7 years of solid coding experience
- Deep experience with media buying platforms and the data formats in those platforms (Media Ocean, Media Tools, and digital platforms like Meta, TTD, DV360)
- Experience and passion for optimizing semi-structured and highly nested data for optimal querying and work with UI and AI systems
- Strong SQL experience and familiarity with working with data and databases (SQL, MySQL, PostgreSQL, Amazon Aurora, Redis, Amazon Redshift, Google BigQuery)
- Expertise in creating data products and data shares at scale on demand for various stakeholders
