Annan Retina Eye Center is a practice in Houston, Texas now hiring a Medical Office Administrative Assistant/Ophthalmic technician to perform daily administrative and general office duties including scheduling patient appointments, communicating with other medical facilities and insurance companies, scanning insurance documents and medical records and checking in and out patients. Experience in Ophthalmology workup and marketing. Ophthalmic workup.

Responsibilities and Duties
- Communicating with patients and relatives in person or on the telephone, scheduling appointments and addressing inquiries directly or referring to other staff.
- Checking in and out patients before and after their appointment.
- Comforts patients by addressing their concerns.
- Maintains patient accounts by obtaining, recording, and updating relevant personal and financial information.
- Obtains revenue by recording and updating financial information; recording and collecting patient copays.
- Protects patients' rights by maintaining confidentiality of personal and financial information.
- Maintains operations by following policies and procedures; reporting needed changes.
- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
- Helps advertising the practice, making brochures, going out introducing the practice to potential referrals.
- Help in working up patients for an eye exam - previous experience in working up retina patients including using FA is encouraged.
Qualifications and Skills
Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills, both verbally and in writing, Multi-tasking, Flexibility, Adequate computer and telephone skills, Team work, Time management, Organization, Detail-orientation, Professionalism.
At least 6 months of Medical Office Reception experience required, some experience with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) and/or Practice Management (PM) software system experience is preferred although adequate EMR/PM training specific to our practice will be provided. Experience in working up patients for an eye exam.
Prefer a previous Ophthalmic technician experience that speaks Spanish

This is a part time or full-time position with generous compensation. Schedule can vary Monday through Saturday. Compensation is very competitive.
