Position Purpose
The Staff Accountant at Annandale Village will manage billing for all levels of care, oversee purchasing processes, attend new admissions meetings, and handle credit card processing, bank reconciliations and assist with month-end close. This role ensures accurate financial tracking, timely billing, and smooth operational support for the organization’s financial activities and admissions.
Required Qualifications
Bachelors degree in a business-focused discipline. At least 2 years’ general accounting experience.
Good organizational skills and the ability to work with diverse populations.
Must have strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Must be at least 21 years of age, have a valid Class C Georgia Driver’s License, proof of vehicle insurance, and meet company policy regarding MVR requirements.
Must meet state requirements regarding a GBI and FBI criminal history record check which requires fingerprinting.
Must undergo and pass a drug screening and screening for Tuberculosis.
Major Duties and Responsibilities
Compile information required to bill for services
Submit monthly Medicaid, Medicare, and insurance claims for skilled nursing and Medicaid Waiver services
Responsible for billing issues / denied claims resolution while communicating progress to the Controller on a weekly basis
Process monthly billing for Personal Care Home, Assisted Living, Independent Living and Day programs.
Work with skilled nursing staff to perform monthly triple check.
Manage census changes for billing purposes in Electronic Health Records.
Manage new admissions including, benefits verifications and family communication for new residents as well as outpatient and inpatient therapy services .
Assist families with benefits changes related to Medicaid and Medicare.
Resolve and communicate changes in patient liability for skilled nursing residents.
Manage Medicaid applications and renewals for skilled nursing residents.
Maintain Medicaid and Medicare Bad Debt Logs
Serve as super user for Point Click Care billing system.
Responsible for Advanced Beneficiary Notifications and Notices of Medicare Non-coverage
Purchasing and inventory management including tracking of par inventory levels and expense allocation.
Receive and process supply purchase requests in compliance with approval and budget policies.
Process credit card transactions and reconcile monthly credit card statements.
Prepare monthly bank reconciliations
Serve as backup for payroll specialist.
Assist with annual budgeting
Prepare revenue analysis reports
Assist with month-end and year-end close
Assist with audit and IRS Form 990 preparation.
Assist with compilation of information for Medicaid and Medicare Cost Reports
Maintain knowledge of Georgia Medicaid and Medicare regulations.
Attends all required and assigned trainings.
Performs other duties that may be necessary in the best interest of Annandale at Suwanee, Inc. to meet the personal service needs of the Annandale Villagers.
Job performance will be assessed at least annually using the Annandale Village performance evaluation process.
