What are the responsibilities and job description for the Middle School Educational Support Specialist (Special Ed Teacher) position at Annapolis Area Christian School?
Annapolis Area Christian School is an independent, nondenominational Christian school serving Kindergarten through 12th grade students.
AACS is searching for a full-time Middle School (Grades 6-8) Ed Support Specialist (Special Ed teacher) beginning with the 2025-2026 school year. The Educational Support Program at AACS is designed to support students within our school families with learning differences. Services needed are identified through educational testing, response to intervention protocols, individual education plans (IEP), and/or 504 plans.
Educational Support Specialists work closely with students, parents, and the Middle School faculty to facilitate student learning and are responsible for managing an educational support caseload, providing intervention/specialized instruction within the general education classroom and outside of the general education classroom as needed. The Ed Support specialist is also responsible for directing the work of Educational Support Instructors/ paraprofessionals.
The ideal candidate will have a degree in education with a focus or certificate in special education.
This position is specific for middle school and will work with a team of Ed support staff to meet the needs of 6th-8th grade students.
