Job Summary:
The Project Foreman plays a vital role in our commercial construction projects, overseeing and coordinating the activities of the metal framing and drywall installation teams. This position requires strong leadership, technical expertise, and the ability to effectively communicate with team members, clients, and subcontractors. The Project Foreman will be responsible for ensuring the successful completion of projects within budget, and on schedule. A Project Foreman has a dynamic role, serving as a bridge between on-site teams and higher management, ensuring projects are executed efficiently, safely, and to the highest standards.
Responsibilities:
Project Execution: Oversee daily site operations, ensuring all tasks, including metal framing, finishes, and moisture protection, meet our stringent standards.
Team Coordination: Lead construction crews in diverse tasks ranging from metal framing to finishes and moisture protection.
Subcontractor Management: Liaise with subcontractors, ensuring specialized tasks align with our project specifications.
Safety Compliance: Uphold all OSHA and Florida-specific safety regulations. Conduct regular safety briefings and drills.
Night and Out-of-Town Work: Supervise projects during nighttime hours or those located outside of Central Florida, as required.
Reporting: Keep upper management informed about project progress, potential challenges, and the solutions implemented.
Material Management: Manage material orders, deliveries, and efficient usage to reduce waste.
Quality Control: Regularly inspect work, from cold-formed framing to waterproofing, ensuring they meet company and client specifications.
Client Relations: Act as the primary on-site contact for clients, addressing their needs and concerns to ensure satisfaction.
Issue Resolution: Address and resolve any on-site challenges promptly to maintain project momentum.
- Supervise and coordinate metal framing, drywall installation, FRP, acoustical ceilings, stucco, and EIFS activities on commercial construction projects.
- Lead a team of skilled workers, providing guidance, training, and support to ensure efficient and high-quality work.
- Read and interpret construction drawings, blueprints, and specifications to plan and organize work activities.
- Coordinate with project managers, architects, and subcontractors to ensure project requirements are met.
- Monitor project progress, identify and resolve any issues or delays, and report updates to the project manager.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies to maintain a safe working environment.
- Procure and manage materials, tools, and equipment needed for the project.
- Conduct regular inspections to verify work quality, adherence to specifications, and compliance with building codes.
Maintain accurate project documentation, including daily reports, timesheets, material logs, and change orders.
Foster positive relationships with clients, addressing their concerns and providing updates on project status.
Collaborate with the estimating team to review project plans, specifications, and scope of work.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional certifications or vocational training in construction-related fields is preferred.
- Proven experience as a Foreman or similar role in commercial construction, specifically metal framing and drywall installation.
- Strong knowledge of metal framing, drywall, FRP, acoustical ceilings, stucco, and EIFS installation techniques.
- Ability to read, interpret, and understand construction drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to effectively manage and motivate a team.
- Strong organizational and time management skills to prioritize tasks and meet project deadlines.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality workmanship.
- Knowledge of safety regulations and procedures in the construction industry.
- Proficient computer skills, including MS Office and construction management software.
