Position Summary

AACFB is seeking an Inventory Control Specialist to support our Warehouse and Inventory Manager. This is a newly created position that focuses on conducting inventory counts, managing processes for accuracy, and coordinating inter-departmental collaboration for best practices in inventory movement. The position requires strong attention to detail, effective communication, and the ability to support warehouse operations as needed.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Inventory Control (50%):

• Conduct regular cycle counts to ensure inventory integrity using our inventory software (Fishbowl).
• Research inventory variances and communicate significant changes to supervisors.
• Interact with relevant departments to support inventory movement, including receiving, distribution, and internal transfers.
• Monitor spoilage or damaged products and report them promptly.
• Assist with physical inventory counts for various product categories (donated, USDA/TEFAP commodities, etc.).

Data Entry (30%):

• Process inventory and donor information in the inventory software within 24 business hours of receipt.
• Generate and submit accurate inventory reports as directed.
• Maintain comprehensive knowledge of the inventory control system.

Warehouse Support (20%):

• Assist in warehouse operations, including handling products following food safety standards.
• Move loaded pallets safely, build orders, and maintain FIFO/FEFO inventory rotation.
• Utilize various warehouse equipment to support inventory movement.

Qualifications

• Education: Associate’s degree required.
• Experience: At least two years of experience with inventory control; experience with Fishbowl inventory software is a plus.
• Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel; strong data entry and communication skills.
• Physical Requirements: Ability to stand for up to 8 hours at a time, lift up to 80 pounds, and work in varying temperatures (cold storage of -20 degrees for short periods of time included). Must be able to work in environments with variable noise levels, lighting conditions and temperature variation and able to access all areas of building without limitations. Ability to hear, understand, and distinguish speech and/or other sounds (e.g., machinery alarms, or other alarms) in moderate to loud work environments. The ability to see details at close range (within a few feet of the observer). Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
• Additional: Reliable transportation and punctuality are essential. Background check and reference validation required.

 Competencies

• Self-starter with strong organizational skills and attention to detail/accuracy.
• High proficiency with Microsoft Windows and Office programs with advanced MS Excel skills, including familiarity with creation and use of complex pivot tables, lookup functions, and other features for formatting, manipulating, and analyzing data.
• Knowledge of warehouse safety and proper food handling procedures is desired. Food bank or warehouse experience is a plus.
• Experience with inventory control concepts and techniques is required.
• Experience with computer-based inventory control systems is required (Experience with Fishbowl inventory software a plus).Experience in stock inventory procedures, FIFO, preferred.
• Experience safely operating warehouse equipment including manual pallet jack, electric pallet jack, double stacker, and/or forklift, preferred.
• Ability to work independently and handle multiple assignments.

Employment Type, Compensation, Benefits, Work Hours

• Non-Exempt; Full-Time
• Hourly Wage: $19.47 – 25.51 per hour ($40,508 - $53,059 annualized salary); pay commensurate with experience
