Job Description
Nature of Work:
Under the supervision of the Medical Assistance Supervisor, performs a variety of complex duties requiring analytical abilities and extensive computer skills. Requires knowledge of the Maryland Children's Health Program/Medical Assistance for Families (MCHP/MA4F) policies. Responsible for applying MCHP/MA4F rules and regulations in making eligibility determinations within 10-day time frames, and completing verifications on Maryland Health Benefits Exchange (HBX) via in person and telephone. Expected to work at a fast pace with efficiency, organization and accuracy. Bilingual in Spanish and English required.
Minimum Qualifications
Education:
High School Diploma or Equivalency (GED)
Experience:
One to two years of clerical experience applying policies in a medical care, health insurance or federal or state entitlement program.
Notes:
Additional general clerical experience may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for the required education. Must have valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
Desired or Preferred Qualifications:
Ability to read, write and speak Spanish.
