JOB SUMMARY
The Electrical Manager performs supervisory and administrative work with minimal supervision, overseeing the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical equipment and systems. This role involves managing, assigning, and prioritizing the work of electricians, trainees, and helpers. The Electrical Manager is responsible for the operational success of the department and assists in defining its strategy and direction in accordance with Maintenance and AACPS policies and procedures. Key responsibilities include visits to schools as required to diagnose major electrical problems and inspect projects at various stages of completion. This position is considered essential personnel.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
- Schedules work and establishes necessary priorities for staff. Assigns, instructs, and inspects the work of personnel engaged in various maintenance activities inclusive of but not limited to Preventive/Planed Maintenance and Corrective/Reactive Maintenance related to electrical building systems and components.
- Plans and implements a Preventive Maintenance (PM) and Corrective Maintenance electrical program to preserve equipment in good working order by following operations and maintenance instructions, troubleshooting malfunctions, maintaining supplies on hand to perform scheduled PM and promptly schedule repairs.
- Assists in establishing design standards for Section and maintains accurate data/information associated with the Systems electrical components to aid and assist with tracking component useful life and condition for maintenance planning purposes.
- Assists in the preparation of Electrical Program requirements for the Maintenance budget, by providing accurate estimates and prioritization of projects required under the Comprehensive Maintenance Plan.
- Reviews specifications and drawings for both new capital projects and systemic replacement of systems for consistency with Facilities design standards and code.
- Stays current with the latest technologies, trends, and best practices in electrical maintenance to ensure compliance with Local, State, and Federal regulations and safety standards.
- Ensures staff are trained in electrical codes, maintenance of electrical related systems/technology utilized throughout the system, and proper safety associated with tasks performed.
- Inspects ongoing and completed projects and work in progress performed by contractors.
- Responds to emergency situations at AACPS properties.
- Performs other related duties as assigned within the same classification or lower.

Education
- High School Diploma or Equivalency Certificate required.
Experience
- 10 or more years progressively responsible experience in the electrical field required; and
- Four (4) years experience in management/supervision required.

- Upon hire, Electrician Master License issued by Maryland Board of Master Electricians required; and
- Upon hire, Driver's License (DL) Class C Non-Commercial issued by Maryland or State of Legal Residence (MVA/DMV) required; and
- Proof of a good driving record required.
