ITnova is seeking a Computer Specialist to install, repair, and support mobile systems, including In-Car Computers, Cameras, and audio logging software, while providing user training and managing help desk tickets. This role requires travel across Maryland’s eastern shore, occasional after-hours support, a Bachelor’s in Computer Science (or equivalent experience), 5 years of IT experience, and 3 years specializing in hardware or systems analysis. Preferred skills include Windows OS, In-Car Cameras, Body-Worn Cameras, and INFORM software.
THIS IS AN ONSITE ROLE IN EASTON MD
Key Responsibilities
1. Perform installation and repair services to mobile systems such as In-Car Computers, In-Car Camera and Body Worn Camera along with their associated peripherals.
2. Coordinate with end users to perform installations and repairs to IT related equipment along with user training with computer systems at agency fixed site facilities.
3. Installation and configuration of audio logging software utilized with radio communication workstations.
4. Provide regular reports on service and other division related activities.
5. Travel to multiple agency facilities is required ranging from Queen Anne’s County to Somerset County on the east coast of Maryland.
6. After hours support as needed.
7. Management of and timely response to web help desk tickets (expectation is a ticket is responded to within 24 hours of receipt on a non-urgent issue, urgent issues should be followed up on immediately and if travel is involved response within 4 hours).
8. Install, configure, test, and maintain mobile data computers (using Windows OS), printers and scanners.
9. Install, configure, test, and maintain all camera systems to include the Body Worn Camera for the Trooper Installation and configuration of audio logging software (INFORM).
10. Support the Waterloo / Jessup, Maryland Mobile Systems Unit.
11. Create clear, concise documentation of system updates, project work assigned, troubleshooting processes as requested.
12. Create clear and concise documentation / guides for the systems deployed by ESD.
13. Train end users in the use of all ESD related systems
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
- Education :
Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university with a major in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business, or other related scientific or technical discipline or three (3) years of equivalent experience in a related field.
Must have five (5) years of computer experience in at least two (2) of the following disciplines : systems analysis, systems programming, application programming, or equipment analysis.
At least three (3) years of experience as either a computer hardware and / or systems software specialist, or as a systems analyst with duties relating to the evaluation of third- and fourth-generation or state-of-the-art computer hardware and software and its ability to support specific requirements for systems management or large-scale system development and maintenance.
