Are you ready to take the first step toward a rewarding career in the dental field? Anne Arundel Workforce Development Corporation (AAWDC) is offering a Dental Assistant training program designed to prepare you for immediate entry into the workforce.
Only 6 candidates will be selected. Eligibility is based on suitability and priority of service.

Requirement
Interest & Aptitude
- Demonstrated interest in healthcare, dentistry, or patient care
- Desire to work in a clinical setting
- Strong attention to detail and manual dexterity
⚕️ Soft Skills
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Ability to work as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
- Professionalism and empathy when interacting with patients
Availability & Commitment
- Willingness to attend virtual classes and in-person Saturday shifts
- Ability to complete externship hours
- Commitment to full program participation and job placement follow-up
Basic Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- Basic computer literacy (for virtual components)
- Reliable internet and device for virtual instruction
Workplace Readiness
- Reliable transportation for externship and Saturday clinicals
- Willingness to comply with health and safety standards (e.g., PPE, hygiene)
- Ability to pass background and drug screening if required by employer/externship site
Eligibility
To obtain funding, students must meet ALL eligibility requirements, they must be:
- An Anne Arundel County Resident
- At least 18 years old
- If born before 1960, males must be registered with the selective service. https://www.sss.gov
- Must be able to provide required documentation.
