Shift: Monday- Friday (8am - 5pm)

Job Summary
The Grant Writer is primarily responsible for developing and writing grant proposals to foundations, government sources and other grant funding entities and will persuasively communicate the mission and programs of Anne Carlsen to the potential funders. Working collaboratively with the members of the Operations, Finance and Ideation teams, the Grant Writer will assemble and submit grant requests, establish and maintain personal contacts and relationships with grant source contacts, conduct prospective research on grant opportunities, and maintain a calendar of submissions and other deadlines.
QUALIFICATIONS (minimum Requirements)
Education and/or years’ experience required:
Bachelor’s Degree and 3 years’ experience in grant writing and management
3 years’ experience in project management
Demonstrated excellence in writing, analytic, research and data management skills
Demonstrated excellence in communication and organizational skills
Preferred Skills And Abilities
Master’s Degree and 5 – 7 years’ experience in grant writing and management
Supervision of others/decision making aptitude (if applicable): This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.
Essential Functions And Accountabilites
Develops a clear understanding of the organization to effectively and accurately convey programs, services and strategic needs
Ensures grant funding requests align with the mission, strategic plan and priorities
Conduct prospect research on grant opportunities
Develop and write grant proposals to foundations, government sources and other grant funding entities.
Prepare, assemble, and submit grant requests including letters, proposals, budgets, and presentations
Works closely with the finance department and Chief Financial Officer to ensure accuracy of financial information, budgets, reporting and tracking requirements of grant requests and awards
Maintain accurate calendar ensure timely submission of letters of inquiry, proposal deadlines and reporting requirements
Prioritize projects based on timeframe, deadlines, management of supplemental materials, etc.
Maintain and manage annual grant calendar, tracking all grant proposal and report due dates while ensuring internal and external deadlines are met
Strategically research grant funding organizations and identifies likely funding sources for specific projects and programs
Review budget of a project or program for which funding is sought and completes recommendations to better present to a grant funding organization
Gather data related to program progress and is aware of new developments in order to prepare timely, interesting, and accurate reports when required by a grant funding organization
Prepares grant proposal summary reports for the Executive Team and other individuals assisting in obtaining support on behalf of Anne Carlsen
Gather and prepare all materials to accompany a grant application
Develops long term plans strategically for additional future grants and projects
Develops workplan and time frame for project completion
Coordinates grant process with program owner to facilitate manage and reporting of funds
Adhere to work schedule and maintain regular attendance.
Performs Anne Carlsen duties as requested by the designated supervisor.
Upholds Anne Carlsen’s ethical standards and demonstrate the behavioral and service expectations as defined in our policies and procedures.
Successfully completes required training and educational requirements per State, Federal, local health codes and Anne Carlsen policies and procedures.
