SUMMARY :
Responsible for helping to advance the mission, vision and values of Lauren Bon and Metabolic Studio internally and externally through philanthropic and programmatic support, research, and coordination of the grants process.
PREFERRED SKILLS :
- Able to advise, support and represent Lauren Bon & the Metabolic Studio when it comes to philanthropic actions, meetings and conferences
- Experience of grant making process and deep understanding of guidelines and rules governed by the IRS and private family foundations
- Specific areas of engagement range from Environmental Justice, Land Rights, Sustainable / Regenerative infrastructure, Community Empowerment / Stabilization and Abolitionist, Decolonial practices, and Speculative Ecology
- Familiarity of working with BIPOC communities and Youth organizing with particular focus on understanding collaborative work with Indigenous and Latinx communities.
- Knowledge of conservation strategies in the US and Americas. Some fluency in policy framework in the US in relation to environmental issues.
- Awareness of the landscape, current discourse and direction of philanthropic work in the US, the Americas, internationally, in relation to social and ecological justice.
- Familiarity with strategies for Community Stabilization - land trusts, food banks, community farms & gardens, etc.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS :

Works with Lauren Bon and senior leadership to ensure compliance and adherence to the Studio's priorities.Knowledge and experience in Environmental, Social Justice, Racial Justice work, grassroots community organizing, in order to advance the Metabolic Studio's support of frontlines projects and communitiesManages a diverse portfolio of grantees. Duties include corresponding with and advising nonprofits seeking funding, inviting and reviewing grant proposals (Letters of Inquiry) and financials, conducting site visits and due diligence on current and potential grantees, preparing grant recommendations, tracking grant approvals through payments and completion and reviewing, evaluating and approving grant progress and final reports.Serves as a primary contact for grantees in the Metabolic portfolio, along with key community partners, nonprofit networks, and other funders.Leads assigned Philanthropic inquiries including the collection of data, compilation of reports, and analysis of grants. Ensures regular and effective communication, performs content-area research relevant to the project, stays informed about industry trends and developments relating to assigned interest areas.Attends various external meetings and events to represent Metabolic Studio in the community and also with foundation colleagues to develop and maintain organizational visibility and accessibility. Represents Metabolic Studio at conferences and events, on panels and planning committees to promote the Studio's interests and initiatives.Stays up to date on developments in the philanthropic and nonprofit sector that impact the Studio's grantmaking, performs content-area research, and monitors issues, best practices, trends, and developments related to the sectors.Participates in Grants meetings with Studio team and Foundation.Performs other related duties and special projects as assigned.SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES :

Minimum of a Bachelor's degree (Master's preferred) in public or business administration or related fieldFive to seven years of work experience, preferably in a philanthropic environment (some grantmaking experience is desirable) - or an equivalent blend of education and experience. In addition, knowledge of or experience with program and mission-related investments and the field of impact investing is a plus.This position may require attending meetings offsite and travel to conferences and other meetings as required.BENEFITS :
