Branch Director
As a Branch Director, you will be responsible for leading your local branch and delivering both an exceptional client and employee experience. You will inspire and motivate your team to provide the best possible service through coaching, performance management, and employee engagement. In addition to your leadership role, you will also represent the firm in the community, partnering with the marketing team to increase brand awareness through various initiatives. To ensure a well-rounded approach, you will spend time engaging with both existing client relationships and developing new ones.
What You’ll Do
Branch Growth and Development
This role focuses on branch growth and development, encompassing supervisory, growth-driving, implementation, associate development responsibilities, and business development activities. Supervisory duties include directly managing wealth management team members, overseeing their daily work, and indirectly leading and managing other local team members. This also involves performance assessment, feedback, training, capacity planning, and staff selection.
- Driving growth requires increasing revenue through new clients, retention, referrals, and other initiatives. Implementing firm initiatives involves fostering growth through relationship building, local marketing, events, and community involvement.
- Developing associates means creating a culture of accountability, coaching, and mentoring for exceptional client service, including providing ongoing communication and support to address performance and development needs.
- Business development activities include prospecting, developing referral sources, and building strong internal and external partnerships.
Client Relationship Management
Client relationship management is a core function of this role, encompassing the oversight and support of client acquisition, retention, portfolio management, and ongoing relationship development. This role will provide crucial support, acting as a coach, mentor, and co-pilot to the team.
Operations and Compliance
Operational and compliance responsibilities are also key to this role. This includes working with Executive Leadership to create and review a branch growth plan, adhering to internal and external policies and ethics, and ensuring a consistent client experience while managing elements of a branch P&L. By effectively fulfilling these responsibilities, you will play a crucial role in driving branch and firm growth. Fostering a positive team culture and delivering an exceptional client and employee experience.
Requirements:What You’ll Bring
- Proven Experience: 10 years of experience as a client-facing wealth manager.
- Leadership Experience: 5 years of experience managing and leading a multi-person team, including a combination of direct and indirect reports.
- Investment Management: Experience managing discretionary relationships.
- Communication Skills: Proactive leader and communicator, skilled in addressing performance matters, fostering open dialogue, and driving positive resolutions through constructive discussions.
- Wealth Management Knowledge: Demonstrate an understanding of comprehensive wealth management concepts, including financial planning, tax planning, and estate planning.
- Client Focus: Strong record of accomplishment of both client development and client retention.
- Sales and Relationship Building: Experience in profiling, overcoming objections, negotiation, team selling, closing the sale, and asking for referrals.
- Teamwork: Ability to lead and work in a team-based environment.
- Market Knowledge: Thorough understanding of the financial markets.
- Fiduciary Commitment: Passion for providing a fiduciary standard of care to clients.
