What are the responsibilities and job description for the MIDDLE SCHOOL ABA TUTOR position at Annie Sullivan Middle School?
The Franklin Public Schools, a Prek-12 district, is seeking an enthusiastic, dedicated individual to work as a 1:1 ABA tutor in the Partner Program in the district. The Partner Program is a classroom supported by both the Franklin Public Schools and the New England Center for Children (NECC). Using the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), the program is designed to help children diagnosed with Autism reach their full potential. The students receive highly specialized instruction to each child with inclusion opportunities provided and supported as appropriate. The ABA Tutor position is a year-round position. This work is performed in the classroom under the direct supervision of a Master’s level Head Teacher and BCBA supervisor. Training is provided and is on-going.
Job Responsibilities of the ABA Tutor include:
-Aiding in planning and implementing academic and behavioral programming for assigned student in collaboration with other members of the team
-Recording and summarizing data
-Meeting regularly with team members and parents
-Carrying over therapies (OT, PT, Speech and Language)
-Modifying general education curriculum/expectations to meet student’s needs and skill level to insure successful inclusion experiences
-Actively participate in ongoing training
-Work closely with other team members
-Providing home services with families
Qualifications include:
-Experience with children with Autism is a plus
-Must be the kind of person who is warm, caring, respectful and have a strong desire to work with young children
-Familiarity with the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis preferred
Hours: Summer and School year 35 hours/week
