Position Summary:
The Commercial Drywall Taper Foreman is responsible for leading and coordinating a crew of tapers to ensure high-quality finishes on drywall installations for commercial construction projects. This role requires hands-on expertise in taping techniques, excellent leadership skills, and a strong commitment to safety, quality, and schedule adherence.
Key Responsibilities:

Crew Supervision: Lead and manage a team of drywall tapers, assigning tasks and monitoring performance to ensure productivity and quality standards are met.

Jobsite Coordination: Collaborate with project managers, drywall foremen, and other trades to coordinate taping activities and ensure sequencing aligns with project milestones.

Quality Control: Oversee all phases of the drywall taping process, including embedding, coating, and finishing, ensuring smooth, paint-ready surfaces that meet company standards.

Material Management: Ensure all required tools, materials, and equipment are available, in good condition, and used efficiently.

Safety Compliance: Promote and enforce a culture of safety, ensuring all team members follow company safety policies and OSHA regulations.

Training & Development: Train crew members on proper techniques and promote skill development to maintain a high-performing team.

Documentation: Maintain accurate daily logs of work performed, materials used, crew hours, and any field issues that arise.

Problem Solving: Identify issues with materials, schedules, or workmanship early and propose effective solutions to keep the job on track.
Qualifications:

Experience: Minimum 5 years of commercial drywall experience with at least 2 years in a foreman or lead taper role.

Skills:

Advanced knowledge of drywall finishing tools and techniques (hand and mechanical tools)

Ability to read blueprints and construction documents

Strong communication and leadership abilities

Certifications: OSHA 10/30 preferred; First Aid/CPR a plus
