Elementary Teacher
POSITION ANNOUNCEMENT
ANNISTON CITY SCHOOLS
POSITION: Elementary School Teacher (Anticipated Vacancy)
PRIMARY FUNCTION: To help students learn subject matter and skills in a classroom setting that will contribute to their development as mature, able and responsible members of society.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Appropriate Alabama Teacher Certification
- Highly Qualified (HQT) Status
- Teaching experience preferred
- Ability to work effectively with students
REPORTS TO: Principal
LOCATION: Anniston City Schools
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES
- Determines individual and class needs.
- Establishes objectives and plans learning experiences.
- Implements activities using a variety of techniques that utilize instructional time to meet objectives.
- Establishes and maintains standards of student behavior to achieve a functional learning atmosphere.
- Exhibits positive human relations skills.
- Evaluates positive human relations skills.
- Communicates with parents/guardians, colleagues and community groups.
- Demonstrates proficiency in written and oral communication.
- Maintains and submits records and reports.
- Adheres to school system rules, administrative procedures, local board policy and state and federal rules and regulations.
- Engages in personal professional growth and demonstrates professional ethics and leadership.
- Any and all duties that may be assigned by the principal.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: 187 days ~ 9 months
SALARY: Based Upon District Salary Schedule
