Anniston Police Department is looking for highly motivated, professional, and dedicated individuals to join our team.
Duties will include but are not limited to:
- Engage with community members to foster and build good long-lasting relationships.
- Patrol the community in a professional manner to maintain public safety.
- Investigate complaints and suspicious activities.
- Enforce state, local, and federal laws & regulations.
- Complete other duties as assigned by supervisors.
Salary Information:
- All sworn police officers start at $22.54 per hour.
- Additionally, all sworn officers receive $150 monthly Hazardous Duty Pay and a $600 yearly uniform allowance.
- Total Base Pay is $49,279.18, with opportunities for promotions and pay increases.
- Also, upon the successful completion of your probationary period, each officer receives a $1,000 bonus.

- 14 days vacation per year (increases with longevity)

- All uniforms and equipment are provided by the city.

Applicants for the position of police officer must:
- Be at least 19 years of age;
- Be a United States citizen;
- Be a graduate of an accredited high school or have obtained a GED;
- Not have been convicted of any felony, or any misdemeanor which precludes you from possessing a firearm;
- Must be able to meet the new education requirement of completing the ACT WorkKeys Assessment exams.
