**Job Overview:**
The Chef leads culinary operations at our Memory Care Community. The Chef will be responsible for planning, preparing, and presenting nutritious and appetizing meals that meet the dietary needs and preferences of our residents. This role requires culinary expertise, leadership capabilities, and a passion for delivering high-quality dining experiences that enhance resident well-being and satisfaction
**Duties:** -
Menu Planning and Development
- Create and oversee the implementation of menus that cater to the dietary requirements and preferences of residents.
- Develop seasonal menus that emphasize variety, nutrition, and culinary creativity.
- Incorporate feedback from residents, families, and staff into menu planning.
Food Preparation and Cooking
- Prepare and cook meals according to established recipes, portion sizes, and dietary guidelines as ordered by the resident's physician.
- Ensure meals are nutritious, flavorful, and presented attractively.
- Monitor food quality and consistency, maintaining high standards of taste and presentation.
Kitchen Operations
- Manage kitchen operations, including food preparation, cooking, and cleaning processes.
- Supervise kitchen staff, providing guidance, training, and performance feedback.
- Ensure compliance with food safety and sanitation standards, following regulatory guidelines.
Inventory and Cost Control
- Monitor and control food inventory levels to minimize waste and maintain cost-effective practices.
- Collaborate with the Foodservice Manager to develop and manage the culinary budget.
- Source quality ingredients and supplies, maintaining relationships with vendors and suppliers.
Team Collaboration and Leadership
- Foster a collaborative and positive work environment within the kitchen team.
- Coordinate with dietary staff to ensure efficient meal service and resident satisfaction.
- Lead by example, demonstrating professionalism, culinary expertise, and a commitment to excellence.
Customer Service and Resident Engagement
- Interact professionally and courteously with residents, families, and staff during meal service.
- Accommodate special dietary requests and preferences with empathy and attention to detail.
- Participate in dining events and engage residents in culinary experiences to enhance their dining satisfaction.
Qualifications:
- Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in nutrition, food service management, culinary arts, or a related field preferred.
- Minimumof 3-5 years of experience in food service management, preferably in a healthcare or senior living environment.
