The department has an immediate opening for a Land Surveyor Technician who will perform various duties. Some of the critical responsibilities of this position include collecting accurate field survey measurements using survey instruments in accordance with all applicable requirements. Performing boundary, topography, and right-of-way surveys for various county projects.This is a full-time, non-exempt, on-site position. Perform boundary, topography, and right of way surveys for various county projects.Maintain Public Land Survey (PLS) monuments including monitoring location certificates, removing and replacing monuments, re-positioning, and checking ties to PLS monuments.Prepare graphic displays, drawings, and maps for various county departments, including topographical and architectural drawings, tax forfeit maps, signs, and charts.Prepare and/or check documents, drawings and data using computer aided drafting software, GIS software, or other software programs.Maintain county maps, plats, and aerial photos and perform the necessary dissemination of information to county departments and the public.Conduct research on legal interpretation, map assembly, and field notes.
