Early Childhood Screeners

Job Summary:
We are seeking part-time casual substitutes for Early Childhood Screeners. As a screener, you will administer health and development screenings for children ages 3-4, discuss their general development with parents, and refer families to community resources. If you have excellent communication and organizational skills, we encourage you to apply.

Responsibilities:

• Administer health and/or development screenings for the Early Childhood Screening Program.
• Discuss the general development of the child with parent(s), including providing resources to address health and parenting concerns.
• Assist in identifying children to be evaluated for special education programming.
• Refer families to community resources.
• Maintain records of screening.
• Follow-up on health-related referrals.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

• Licensed Special Education Teacher or Speech Language Pathologist preferred.
• Good communication and organizational skills.
• Ability/desire to work cooperatively with department and district staff.
• Ability to maintain regular attendance.
• Ability to lift a minimum of 40 pounds.
• Physical ability to perform position responsibilities.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Public Health Certificate (PHN) preferred.
• Licensed Special Education Teacher or Speech Language Pathologist preferred.

Compensation:$31.61/hour and up, depending on qualifications.

Salary : $32
