- Process and manage all leave of absence requests, including FMLA, medical, family, adoption, parental, intermittent, educational, exigency, military, sabbatical, and domestic abuse/violence leaves, and paid sick leave.
- Interpret and explain leave policies, procedures, working agreements, and regulations to employees and administrators.
- Coordinate leave of absence processes with relevant stakeholders, including employees, principals, supervisors, and other Anoka-Hennepin departments.

- Coordinate and manage interpretation services for staff to ensure compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), promoting effective communication and equal access for all employees.
- Interpret and apply district policies, working agreement language, and procedures related to leaves of absence.
- Guide accommodation requests for employees returning to work with restrictions.
- Maintain accurate records and data related to leaves of absence.
- Prepare reports and analyses for management and the school board.
- Provide timely and accurate information to employees regarding leave processes.
- Address employee inquiries and concerns in a professional and empathetic manner.
- Participate in district health and safety committees.
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- 3-5 years of relevant work experience.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in human resources administration, with a focus on leave management; experience working in a school district or educational environment is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of FMLA, ADA/504, and other applicable employment laws.
- Ability to routinely handle confidential information.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Full Time 260 days/8 hrs/day
The Leave of Absence Human Resources Specialist is responsible for providing comprehensive leave of absence administration and support to approximately 8,000 school district employees and administrators. This role requires a deep understanding of federal, state, and local employment laws, as well as district policies and procedures and working agreement language. The Specialist will serve as the primary point of contact for all leave-related inquiries, ensuring compliance with FMLA, ADA/504, working agreement language, and other applicable regulations.

Rate of Pay: $24.58/ hr to $32.54/ hr and up DOE. Confidentials who have or obtain an Associate of Arts/Science degree or an equivalent number of credits applicable towards a bachelor’s degree (60 semester or 90 quarter credits) will receive an additional $1.00 per hour. Confidentials who have or obtain a bachelor’s degree will receive an additional $1.50 per hour. There will be no stacking of Certificates and Degrees. The highest level of pay will be applied.
