MAINTENANCE SPECIALIST - Cabinet Maker
Full Time 260 days/8 hrs/day
Duties: Construct wooden cabinets, storage units, tables, walls, paneling, shelving, etc. Perform repair work such as doors, walls, counters, and furniture. Construction work mainly consisting of P. Lam and wood materials. Installation and repair of building hardware, such as hinges, locks, door closers, and other related equipment as assigned. Perform locksmithing tasks such as but no limited to pinning cores, installing interchangeable cores, maintaining core pinning records, etc.. Consult, layout and estimate work requests. Perform other duties as assigned by the Lead, Supervisor, Director of Building & Grounds, or designee.
Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent, plus 3 or more years experience as a finish carpenter. Requires valid Class C Minnesota driver's license. Ability to troubleshoot equipment failures. Working knowledge of computers and computer programs used in the assigned area. Knowledge in the operation and function of wood working equipment and cabinet making systems and processes. Ability to understand and observe oral and written instructions. Ability to read, understand and follow architectural, electrical, mechanical and schematic drawings. Ability to maintain records and prepare reports. Motivated self-starter; well-organized and efficient; ability to work with minimum supervision and direction. Ability to maintain regular attendance, which includes completing an assigned day. Ability to perform position responsibilities, including physical factors, work devices an materials handling, Must be physically working in the building/on site.
Preferred Qualifications: Ability to interact and communicate with contractors and the general public preferred. Read and interpret resource manuals and construction plans/specs preferred. Ability to work from schematics, blueprints and other plans as well as update plans preferred. Basic understanding and knowledge of current codes and ADA guidelines. Knowledge of construction industries and of acceptable standards and techniques, including knowledge of industry standards for construction projects preferred.
