Job Description
Anoka Technical College is seeking an unlimited, full-time (UFT) Counselor for a 171-day assignment during a nine-month academic year with the possibility of extra days during the winter break and summer term. The Counselor will work approximately 35 hours per week. The Counselor will provide personal, academic, and career counseling to currently enrolled students. The Counselor will provide community resource referrals to students, update the resource referral section of the college website, support the crisis grant process, participate in responses to crisis situations on campus, support the Early Alert academic support system, provide advising to PSEO and College Connect students, act as the first point of contact for student complaints, and manage Anoka Tech’s food pantry including supervision of student workers & volunteers.
Salary Range: $51,303-$94,542
Full-time faculty salaries are based on an evaluation of education and related experience after a job offer has been accepted and currently range from $51,303-$94,542. Full-time faculty work 171 days during a nine-month academic year and receive excellent benefits including health insurance, life insurance, dental insurance, short and long-term disability, paid personal and sick leave, retirement savings plans, tuition waiver for employees and dependents, professional development funds, along with many optional benefit programs.

**Please note, Initial Step placement is established by the MSCF contract in which sets salary limitations to what a new Faculty member is able to begin at. This will differ from the maximum salary range in this posting. For more information, please visit the

between Minnesota State College Faculty (MSCF) and the State of Minnesota. Salary will be commensurate with education and experience.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in counseling or counseling psychology.
Preferred Qualification
  • Experience with mental wellness counseling services and programming in areas such as depression, grief, life/work balance, living successfully with a mental illness, etc.
  • Experience providing career counseling services.
  • Experience supporting people who are considered to be academically at-risk, such as students on academic probation or suspension.
  • Experience collaborating with local government, mental health centers, school districts, etc. to deliver mental health programs and services.
  • One year of counseling experience in a community or technical college setting.
  • Experience developing and using technology tools in the provision of services to students.
  • Experience teaching coursework related to college and career success.
