Job Summary:
We are seeking experienced Project Managers to join our team in managing complex healthcare IT projects. Under minimal supervision from an Executive Leader, you will take ownership of projects aimed at improving operational systems, with increasing responsibility for planning, resource allocation, and implementation. This position will focus on IT projects related to infrastructure, applications, EPIC EMR system, security, and process governance, stemming.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage complex projects aimed at improving operating systems and functions within a healthcare environment, with responsibility for coordination across multiple teams.
- Develop, implement, and manage project plans, including scheduling, budgets, resource allocation, and addressing operational concerns.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to refine project scope, objectives, and work plans.
- Prepare project management reports, providing periodic updates to hospital administration, and presenting findings, conclusions, and recommendations.
- Conduct reviews of hospital/medical group areas, acting as the project lead for individual or multi-analyst projects.
- Facilitate and lead meetings, guiding day-to-day activities of the project team to ensure successful project execution.
- Foster teamwork and cooperation across all project participants to ensure efficiency and quality.
- Identify opportunities for improvement, propose new systems or processes, and assist with the implementation of revisions.
- Supervise support staff, guiding them in operations analysis and decision support activities.
- Use independent judgment to make decisions, assess priorities, and ensure timely project completion.
- Collaborate with all levels within the hospital, region, and system to drive project success.
Required Skills & Experience:
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in Operations Analysis, Management Engineering, Operations Management, or a related field within healthcare or management consulting, focused on process improvement.
- Strong experience in IT Project Management, including hands-on experience leading and coordinating complex projects with multiple stakeholders.
- Ability to independently develop and manage project plans, budgets, and resources.
- Strong interpersonal and leadership skills to foster team collaboration and guide support staff.
Preferred Skills & Experience:
- Previous supervisory and/or consulting experience.
- Experience managing IT projects in the healthcare sector.
- Familiarity with healthcare IT systems such as EPIC EMR.
Required Education:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Science, Engineering, or a relevant technical/management field.
Preferred Education:
- Master’s Degree in a relevant field.
Certification & Licensure:
- No specific certifications are required for this position.
Preferred Certifications:
- PMP Certification (Project Management Professional) is strongly preferred.
Work Schedule:
- Full-time, 40 hours per week, 8 hours per day.
- Hybrid: Work remotely, with occasional onsite attendance as needed in Detroit, Michigan (candidates must be local).
