Our Company is seeking an experienced Solutions Engineer to join our growing team. This role is ideal for a technically proficient, customer-focused professional who thrives in a collaborative pre-sales environment. The Solutions Engineer will serve as a trusted advisor to both customers and internal sales teams, supporting the design, demonstration, and proposal of technology solutions involving RFID, mobility, barcode, wireless, and automation systems.
This is a full-time position that requires regular onsite work at our Baltimore-area office, along with occasional travel for customer visits.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide pre-sales technical support including system architecture design, hardware/software recommendations, service and solution planning
- Participate in customer discovery calls, product demos, and technical presentations
- Assist in the development of proposals and solution documentation
- Configure and test mobile computers, scanners, RFID readers, and related devices for pilots and deployments
- Collaborate with implementation and support teams for smooth post-sale transitions
- Stay current on industry trends, vendor technologies, and competitor offerings
- Maintain certifications through ongoing training and development
Qualifications:
- 5 years of experience in pre-sales engineering, systems engineering, or technical consulting
- Strong knowledge of RFID, RTLS, barcode scanning, mobile computing, and wireless networking technologies
- Familiarity with device management platforms such as 42Gears, SOTI, and Ivanti
- Hands-on experience with leading hardware vendors (e.g., Zebra Technologies, Impinj, Honeywell, Datalogic, Extreme Networks)
- Exceptional troubleshooting and diagnostic skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Excellent writing skills, with the ability to develop technical documentation, proposals, and internal materials
- High attention to detail and strong organizational skills
- Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent technical experience
- Willingness to travel as needed for customer engagements
