Job Summary
The Buyer Direct will be based in Henrico, VA, reporting to the Materials Manager. This role will be coordinating activities involved with procuring direct materials, electrical and / or mechanical parts.
What a typical day looks like :
- Maintain supplier relationships and manage the ordering of raw materials and parts based on production requirements.
- Handle purchase order confirmations, modifications, and track shipments to ensure timely delivery.
- Conduct regular stock checks to prevent overstock and minimize obsolescence risks.
- Communicate with freight forwarders and warehouses to organize transportation and resolve claims or discrepancies.
- Review requisitions and MRP outputs, and manage procurement records, including costs and inventory levels.
- Monitor supplier performance regarding price, delivery, and quality, and conduct quarterly supplier reviews.
