What are the responsibilities and job description for the Host/Hostess position at Another Broken Egg Cafe?
Hosts will greet guests as they enter and show them to their table or assist them with getting added to the waiting list.
They will engage with guests to ensure a positive dining experience. Hosts need to be comfortable standing for extended periods of time and be organized. Responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
- Providing guests with menus and suggestions when being seated.
- Assigning guests to tables utilizing restaurants operating system and guest preference.
- Answering phone calls, assisting with directions, and helping resolve problems.
- To-go orders are taken by host therefore knowledge of the menu is important.
- Assisting other positions in the restaurant as needed.
- Providing great customer service.
- Cleanliness of restaurant including host stand, restrooms and tables.
Host Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Ability to provide professional service in a fast-paced environment with limited supervision.
- A positive, friendly attitude and ability to work well under pressure with all staff members.
- Able to work in a standing position for long periods of time.
- Willing to follow instructions and ask questions if clarification is needed.
- Able to handle money accurately and operate a point-of-sale system.
- Availability to work weekends and holidays is required.
