Another Source’s client, Florida State University, is recruiting a Lead Dispatcher to join their growing team within the FSU Police Department in Tallahassee, Florida. As Lead Dispatcher, you’ll be a trusted voice during the moments that matter most. 

Key Responsibilities: 

This is a leadership position within the FSUPD Dispatch Center. You will: 

• Support 3 dispatchers on-shift and provide supervisory functions such as approving timesheets, writing performance evaluations for those team members 

• Monitor campus-wide camera systems and alarm alerts 

• Oversee emergency messages and assist with activation of FSU’s Emergency Notification System 

• Train team members in best practices for call-taking, radio communications, and NCIC/FCIC systems 

• Coordinate with local law enforcement and fire/rescue as needed 

• Prepare logs, reports, and contribute to critical departmental records 

• Ensure operational readiness during high-pressure and emergency situations 

Salary: Starting at $44,500 | $46,500 post-certification, access to which is provided by FSU. Relocation assistance is not provided. 

Required Experience: 

• High school diploma or GED 

• 1 year of relevant experience in dispatch, customer service, call centers, or emergency services 

• Supervisory experience 

• Willingness to complete certification training through the Department of Health post-hire 

Preferred Skills: 

• Familiarity with Florida Crime Information Center/National Crime Information Center systems 

• Experience in high-stress roles (ERs, EMS, fire/police dispatch) 

• Ability to adapt quickly, stay calm, and communicate clearly 

• Strong attention to detail and critical thinking 

• Technological literacy in dispatch and security systems
