Field Service Engineer / Technician (CA Region)

The Field Service Engineer acts as the immediate technical support for all field service and equipment issues on-site or via phone support to customers or colleagues.
The right candidate will have a minimum of five years of field service work, experience resolving electrical and mechanical machine issues, and the interpersonal abilities to act as the face of the company. This role requires up to 75-85% travel and necessitates the capacity to work independently. Candidates with an electrical/mechanical background and/or a military background are highly encouraged to apply. The best candidate for this position would ideally be based in Southern California within one hour of a major airport in the region.

Duties and Responsibilities for the Field Service Engineer:
- Acts as immediate technical support for all field service issues on-site or via phone support to customers or colleagues
- Troubleshooting
- Completing planned preventative maintenance on machines
- Ensuring that the equipment is properly configured to the customer's required application
- Provides on-site and off-site customer training
- Supports sales representatives and other independent services to maintain a high level of service for our Anritsu customers
- Tests and repairs equipment to ensure that product specifications are met
- Functions as the liaison with OEMs on system communications
- Assists with management of the Anritsu showroom, demo equipment, and maintenance requirements
- Assists with system demonstrations, acceptance testing, and sales calls
- Completes X-Ray product testing and writes a corresponding report for the customer as required
- Networks for new sales channel organizations in open territories
- Manages emails, task lists, maintenance data documentation, and calendars in Outlook, Excel, Word, CRM
- Uses a variety of hand and power tools and electric meters in performing duties, including Precision Measurement Devices for State/Federal RSO regulations
- Complies with safety regulations and maintains clean and orderly work areas
Requirements for the Field Service Engineer:
- Five years of experience in a customer service/field service work environment
- Experience diagnosing, troubleshooting and repairing electrical and mechanical machine issues
- Minimum Associates Degree in Electronic Technology, Industrial Controls or Electrical Engineering, or similar technical education through the military
- Travel up to 75-85% overnight travel during the workweek
- Experience in using electrical test equipment (oscilloscope, multi-meter, and tachometer) regularly
- Intermediate level experience in Microsoft Applications such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Ability to interpret circuit diagrams and manufacturing drawings in AutoCAD and Solidworks
- Experience in CRM and ERP environments
- Familiarity with the food processing industry is ideal but not required
- Ability to meet the physical requirements of position duties; to include lifting 65 lbs, squatting, standing for long periods, working in cold, food processing rooms, etc.
