Roles and Responsibilities

Summary:

The AEC Contract Facilities Construction Supervisor will play a crucial role in overseeing the construction and installation of oil and gas facilities. Your primary responsibilities will be to ensure that all construction activities are carried out safely, efficiently, and according to project specifications and timelines. This role is responsible for the coordinating and working of construction teams, including contractors, subcontractors and other personnel involved in the construction process. This position will monitor the progress of construction activities, conduct regular site inspections, and ensure that all work is conducted in compliance with safety regulations and industry standards.

Major Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage the construction of oil and gas production facilities, including well pads, pipelines, compressor installations, and storage tanks, ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget.
• Collaborate with Facilities Operations Manager along with engineering and design teams to develop and review construction plans, ensuring compliance with all applicable codes, regulations, and industry standards.
• Supervise and coordinate construction activities, including scheduling, resource allocation, and material procurement, to ensure efficient and cost-effective project execution.
• Conduct regular site visits to monitor construction progress, identify and resolve any issues or delays, and ensure adherence to safety protocols.
• Review and approve contractor bids and proposals, ensuring contractors meet quality and safety standards.
• Manage contractor relationships, including conducting performance evaluations and providing feedback to ensure high-quality workmanship and adherence to project specifications.
• Maintain accurate project documentation, including daily logs, progress reports, and change orders, and provide regular updates to Facilities Operations Manager.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including drilling, completions, production, and environmental health and safety, to ensure seamless integration and compliance with company policies and procedures.
• Stay informed of industry trends, technologies, and best practices in facility construction, and make recommendations for process improvements and cost savings.
• Work with AEC approved vendors to obtain best possible pricing on materials.
• Ensure Contractors adhere to AEC Life Critical Programs.
• Use Stop Work Requirement, when necessary.
• Conduct daily Safety Meetings.

Qualifications and Capabilities:

• Experience with oil and gas upstream operations, construction management, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in facility construction, preferably in the oil and gas industry.
• Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and equipment, as well as relevant codes and regulations.
• Experience in managing construction projects from start to finish, including scheduling, budgeting, and resource allocation.
• Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with cross-functional teams, contractors, and vendors.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with a proactive and results-oriented mindset.
• Proficient in project management software and tools, with the ability to effectively use technology to streamline processes and improve efficiency.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, managing multiple projects simultaneously.
• Commitment to safety and adherence to Oil and Gas industry regulations.
• Position requires an extensive presence in a field environment. Physically capable of field work in adverse weather conditions, and able to manage the physical requirements of a field-based position.
• Position requires working knowledge of mobile and desktop computing resources with working knowledge of Microsoft Office products, collaborative software, and ability to learn and use additional software.
• Requires fluency in written and spoken use of the English language.
• Requires excellent communication skills.
