Sr. or Staff Petrophysicist
Location - Denver
Reports to : – Subsurface Integration Manager
Main Tasks and Responsibilities
- Responsibilities of the petrophysicist reporting to the Subsurface Integration Manager include :
- Work with the broader subsurface & operations teams to understand data / knowledge gaps and then design & execute core, wireline & other data acquisition programs to address them in exploration, appraisal, and development settings.
- Create, maintain, advance & document core- & advanced log-constrained petrophysical & geomechanical workflows for multiple basins, including the Powder River Basin.
- Integrate the resulting static, dynamic & geomechanical reservoir properties into practical multi-disciplinary work products that have business impact through improving operational efficiency & advancing petroleum system understanding.
- Drive basin-wide characterization , including but not limited to Quantifying fundamental Rock, Fluids, Pressure properties for mapping
- Support development of conceptual subsurface models through use of “structural, stratigraphic, and depositional systems” modeling
- Guide reservoir characterization input / collaboration on performance-calibrated fairways
- Input to basin wide thermal and geo-cellular modeling efforts
- Guide and assist in the awareness and design for petrophysical and geospatial data collection (i.e., log based, geochemical and geomechanical needs)
- Utilization / integration of mud-log and cuttings-based geologic data
- Collaborative utilization and integration of drilling & completions data and resultant modeling
- Intentional collaboration with Reservoir and Subsurface Integration counterparts on sensitivity tiering
Work directly with Geoscience and Engineering counterparts to ensure the integration of geoscience and engineering technical work products for the betterment of development, appraisal, exploration & business development decisioning. Assist in implementing value-of-information mindset by working with Subsurface counterparts on science and data acquisition planning input to SAP’s and FDP’s, budgeting, and execution.

Salary Range : $180,000 - $240,000
