Job Position Title: Law Clerk
Department: Rotate Through Different Departments (Litigation, Matrimonial, Criminal, Commercial Real Estate, Personal Injury, ect.)
Location: Ocean Township, New Jersey
Shift Type: Full-time
Work Shift: M-F 9:00AM -5:15 PM
Duration: Candidates will join the firm in June 2025 and work through the beginning of August 2025
Position Overview:
Ansell.Law is seeking a 2L Law Student to join our firm as a Law Clerk. Candidate must be in their second year of law school and in the top third of their class. Ideally with legal counseling and litigation exposure. Prior law clerk experience is a plus.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities (but not limited to):
- Significant and substantive legal research and writing
- Communicate with courts, counsel, and clients
- Research cases by interviewing, reading dispositions, reviewing evidence and speaking with client to determine the best strategy
- Attend court, take depositions, and engage in all aspects of busy commercial litigation practice in state and federal court
Desired Skill and Abilities:
- Experience with advising clients to litigate disputes concerning construction and insurance matters
- Experience working with insurance coverages
- Knowledge with IManage Document Management System and Orion is a plus
- Must be knowledgeable in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, etc.)
- Must be resourceful, work as a team player as well as independently
Working Conditions:
- Must be able to work shift hours and seasonal changes based on the needs of the business
- Must be able to work in an office setting
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to lift 10-20 lbs, sit for extended periods of time, stairs, reach, twist, bend, stretch, climb, walk and/or run
